Founded on May 1, 1963, Navajo Housing Authority is the tribally designated housing entity for the Navajo Nation. NHA has 15 housing management offices across the Navajo Nation and oversees a housing stock of 7,246 units, comparable to the housing stock of New York City. Overall, NHA is the eighth largest housing authority in the U.S.
